Hanover Department of Social Services is a member of GREITCC and is a certified VITA (IRS Volunteer Tax Preparation Site). You may qualify for the Earned Income

Tax Credit. This assistance is geared toward low-income individuals and families with income below $49,000. If you (single, couple or family)make less than $49,000 we will assist you with your tax return if your return is not too complicated. Complicated returns will be referred to other free VITA sites in the Greater Richmond area.

This is free and open to the public and Hanover County residency is not required.
